paciente masculino de 21 años quien consulta por cambios en la forma de su cuero cabelludo. Al examen físico, se evidencia crecimiento excesivo del cuero cabelludo, formación de pliegues y surcos cerebriformes. ademas, déficit del intelecto sin evidencia de trastornos neurológicos o psiquiátricos. Al paciente se le realizo una biopsia, sin reporte de cambios inflamatorios/Neoplásicos. Se realizo diagnostico;Cutis Verticis Gyrata (CVG).
CVG, termino utilizado para describir el patron cerebriforme del cuero cabelludo, el termino fue acuñado por Unna en 1907. Garden y robinson realizaron su clasificación;
CVG primaria esencial (Muy poco frecuente).
CVG primaria no esencial , esta asociada a otras anormalidades como; parálisis cerebral, déficit mental, microcefalia, sordera, alteraciones oftalmológicas.
CVG secundaria; paquidermoperiostosis, sifilis, neurofibroma, dermatofibroma, lipomatosus nevus, diabetes mellitus, mixedema, enfermedad de graves, amiloidosis, cretinismo, postraumatico, leucemia, etc.
Etiologia: Desconocida.
Se presenta con mayor frecuencia en hombres (5:1) después de la pubertad y suele desaparecer después de la castración, la CVG primaria no esencial parece tener un componente endocrinologico, estudios apoyan que hay un mayor uso de la testosterona libre durante esta patología. En los casos de CVG secundario, su presencia se debe a los procesos desencadenados por la patología subyacente.
Su tratamiento es para conservar la estética; resección quirúrgica.
